After a break-in or forced entry, one of the most common failures we see is a damaged electric strike.
Today’s intrusions are not always complex — in many cases, one strong pull on the door is enough to defeat low-quality hardware.
👉 How Electric Strikes Actually Fail
Electric strikes are designed for convenience and controlled access, not as primary security against forced entry.
They resist force — but only up to a limit.
⚠️ The key factor is DYNAMIC FORCE (impact/pull force) — not static rating.
➡️ A fast, aggressive pull = instant failure on weak systems

Electric strikes damaged by force, abuse, or break-in attempts are NOT covered under warranty.

👉 Reality: Even high-end strikes can release under strong pulling force — but they usually do NOT break.
🛠️ INSTALLATION MATTERS
When installing commercial strikes, alignment and flush fitting are critical:
• Interlock plates / protection plates must be perfectly flat
• Some models CANNOT be installed flush:
– HES 1006 → large latch (not flush possible)
– Adams Rite 7400 → limited cutting near latch
• Others may be adjustable:
– RCI U65 → can be cut flush
– Adams Rite 7100 → possible, but not always perfect
